BACH – BRANDENBURG CONCERTOS 3, 4, & 6

In 1950 Vienna celebrated the Bach-Fest in honor of the great composer Johann Sebastian Bach, who died 200 years before in 1750. In 1950 Josef Mertin grand seigneur an pioneer of the performance of early music conducted the first recording of Bach’s famous Brandenburg Concertos played on period instruments. Among his musicians were now well known artists like Gustav Leonhardt, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Eduard Melkus.
