An oratorio that was to underpin the unbreakable faith of quasi the entire Holy Roman Empire. For this Attilio Ariosti created a profound, groundbreaking music demonstrating its creator’s outstanding sensorium for drama.

Karfreitag anno 1705: Eine makabere Geschichte aus dem Alten Testament wählte Kaiser Leopold I. zur Andacht für sich und den Hofstaat. Ein Oratorium, das den unverbrüchlichen Glauben quasi des gesamten Heiligen Römischen Reiches untermauern sollte. Attilio Ariosti schuf dazu eine tiefgehende, wegweisende Musik, die das überaus große Sensorium ihres Schöpfers für Dramatik zeigt.
