HANDEL’S ASSISTANT – ANECDOTES OF JOHN CHRISTOPHER SMITH
In 1799 William Coxe (1747 – 1828) published a small book with Anecdotes of John Christopher Smith, who was the last assistant of Georg Frederic Handel. Smith, a composer himself, played the organ in the performances of Handel’s Oratorios under the direction of Handel.
